WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO LD 1805??

LD 1805 original and amended bills have been voted down. The bills sponsor Jerry Davis asked if we could pull the bill but things have changed and it's not done that way anymore. It all came to a vote by the Judiciary Committee and they voted to "ought not to pass" for the whole thing which included the amendments which were not supported by ACCESS 2006. This took place on April 13. Jerry Davis today (April14)  asked for a "Joint Order" establishing a commission to review the whole topic in this morning’s House session and it was passed – will go to Senate after the break next week. If this passes in the Senate the bill will be studied and recommendations put forth when the study is done. Next steps from there remain to be seen.

LD 1805 is gone. The Senate voted not to fund a commission to study which kills the bill.

This whole proceess has been a rollercoaster ride. We at ACCESS 2006 are still determined to get this law passed. We will continue to work on this and will have another bill to submit for the 2007 legislature. Updates will be posted on this web site as they happen.
